Has there been any attempt, legal or illegal, to create a super human by cell manipulation techniques?

I am writing a paper for my biology class on the subject of the designing of a super human. I must include at least three sources, and i have yet to find any information on the above question. I am not just looking for an answer, if you dont have an answer for me, just a book or webpage, that would be helpful. I cannot base by report on just things that I thought up.

No. check this website below out. It talks about how long the human genome is. Its huge length makes it hard to even know what alll of the codons code for, making the creation of a superhuman a long long process. read the page and any related lengths... and start using wikipedia...its awesome, i use it for lots of stuff and im in my last year of colllege. Good luck! O, and be sure to google a page on the moral issues involved...that would be an easy source to find. look for cloning since gentically synthesizing a human would require similar processes in the lab.

It was originally a story made up by the FBI during jungle warfare with the Japanese. The invented a story about a blood sucking hybrid type creature and televised dead soldiers with bite marks caused by fangs and had them drained of blood.

This was to create a fear for the Japanese. Rumour has it the FBI went one step further and tried to create a vampire type creature. Many sighting in Mexico etc.

see what you can find out on wikipedia. I'm sure scientists have made and tested humans from birth without public knowledge.

They will be trying to create an intelligent human that can travel at very high speed unlike us.
