we are spending $6,300 a second, $380,000 a minute, $6,600 per man, women, and child

3000 vets have head injuries costing $600,000 to $5 million per person lifetime care..not to mention the human cost.

Up to 67% of first gulf war vets are disabled costing 2 billion every year...

New study by Milken institute review shows costs to exceed $2 trillion.

This is four times more than giving universal health care to the uninsured would cost...

We spend 45% of our entire budget for wars past and present and for military.. Can you imagine the good all this money could do?

Can we not find a better use for this tremendous amount of money?

world war !! and this war are two very different things..all wars are not the same..Ira posed no threat to America and did not have the capacity to reach us with weaposn..maybe the Saudis or Alquaida, but not Iraq. I am here due to World war 11 and my dad fighting there and marrying an Italian girl due to her stepping on a land mine and fake, but that war which we have reason to be proud of and this are totally different. Do not be ashamed of me for I am proud of the way I have conducted my life and defended my values.

world war II and this war are two very different things..all wars are not the same..Iraq posed no threat to America and did not have the capacity to reach us with weapons..maybe the Saudis or Alquaida, but not Iraq. I am here due to World war 11 and my dad fighting there and marrying an Italian girl due to her stepping on a land mine and fate, but that war which we have reason to be proud of and this are totally different. Do not be ashamed of me for I am proud of the way I have conducted my life and defended my values. It is not whining to question the tremendous costs--human and financial of this war..it is responsible. (sorry if this posts twice..trying to correct typos)

clare--again Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11 and posed NO threat to this country. What about going after the Saudis and Alquida? This is not dying for our freedom as our freedom is not at stake here when you attack a country having nothing to do with 9-11. It is you who care not for he troops..squandering their lives unnessarily and sending them into harm's way when not necessary. This lying to people makes it more likely that people will not enlist. When a war is necessary like World War II, I am all for it, but when it is just for oil or unknown reasons, I cannot in good conscience support it. When you kill 100,000 to 500,000 people, mostly women and children, cause all their food and water to be unsafe 4 1/2 billion years through use of the WMD, depleted uranium, cause gulf war syndromes everyone of the four countries you use it, cause the most horrific birth deformities ever seen on earth (goggle extreme birth deformities) and to go up 1000% and cancer to go up 1000%, poison

your own troops then discharge them without trrewting them, containiate 15 neighboring countries, and kill, sicken, and deform people who won't even know we existed till the end of time, and break several treaties and all for rules of war and the geneva convention, then one must ask who are the terrorists. If you support this it is you who should be ashamed.

Edwin Starr - War
War! - huh- yeah-
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing
Uh-huh
War! – huh – yeah-
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing
Say it again y’all

War! – huh – good God
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me…

Ohhh… War! I despise
Because it means destruction’
Of innocent lives

War means tears
to thousands of mothers eyes
When their sons go to fight
and lose their lives

I said - War! Huh – Good God y’all
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing
Say it again

War! Whoa, Lord
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me…

War! It ain’t nothing but a heartbreaker
War! Friend only to the undertaker
War! It’s an enemy to all mankind
The thought of war blows my mind

War has caused unrest in the younger generation
Induction then destruction-
Who wants to die?

Ohhh… War – Good God Y’all
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing
Say it, Say it, Say it

War! Uh-huh – Yeah - Huh!
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me…

War! It ain’t nothing but a heartbreaker
War! It’s got one friend, that’s the undertaker
War has shattered many a young mans dreams
Made him disabled bitter and mean
Life is much to precious to spend fighting wars these days
War can’t give life, it can only take it away

War! Huh – Good God y’all
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing
Say it again

War! Whoa, Lord
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me…

War! It ain’t nothing but a heartbreaker
War! Friend only to the undertaker
Peace Love and Understanding;
tell me, is there no place for them today?
They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But Lord knows there’s got to be a better way

War! Huh – Good God y’all
What is it good for?
You tell me
Say it, Say it, Say it

War! Huh – Good God y’all
What is it good for?
Stand up and shout it.
Nothing!

listen to this and it holds water, believe it or not during WWII Iran was an allies and was way up in the 70's, well in the 70's we had the Shaw of Iran in our pocket, but the Shaw was wealthy and the country in poverty, a civil war broke out and the Shaw fled for his life, and ever since it has been chanted Death to America!!! We hooked up with Iraq while the was fighting Iran til Saddam bucked us, now to wrap why we are still there, oil that's why we didn't help Rwanda in the 90's No oil, America would not last but a few days without foreign oil so yes ensuring it for our use is big money

War is good for investors, stockholders and anyone with a 401K plan. Armament corporations, oil companies and "think tanks" have taken over leadership of this country. As long as investors' portfolios continue to grow, we will remain the most militaristic, violent nation on the planet. North Korea has correct paranoia. We are the terrorists, and that makes our wallets fat.

During World War II, 11,260,000 servicemen and women were in military service. 318,274 lost their lives, and 565,861 were wounded. Nearly 4,500 Allied and American troops lost their lives on 6 June 1944 (D Day).

How different would YOUR life be today without the sacrifice these people made?

I am ashamed of citizens of this country who refuse to understand that there IS evil in this world and there ARE individuals who are actively seeking ways to kill you and destroy your way of life.

Cost? Start adding the costs of World War Two -- and then feel very ashamed of your whining commentary.

Many wars are fought for the same reason - MONEY! Someone always gets richer. Think about war in Iraq. Who can make money on this war? Military equipment and weapon manufacturers that are contracted with the government. It gets even scarier when the decision-making members of the government run the same companies. Oh here's one more thing. We'll fight in Iraq and make a deal with other Arab countries to make it seem like the future of crude oil is at risk. This way we can double-up the price of oil and split the profits with the filthy rich sheikhs.
So to your question... wasting a lot of money? You bet. Taxpayers money and lives. But it is also making the rich richer.

I may only be 15 but i understand that without all of those people sacrificing their lives for us we would not be living how we are right now. Are you saying we should sit back and watch our country get bombed by terrorists or hit by missiles? Or allow other countries to gather more and more powerful weapons until one day the blow the world to pieces?
Maybe i am the one who doesn't understand it, but i am pretty sure that what you just said is wrong.
My grandfather who died in war would be ashamed of your comments because he died for u. he died for your freedom. war is about money but its also about bringing peace to the world in some weird way eventually.
