Why is incest still so wide spread? If two cousins (no not me) but if two cousins related only by marrage have sex, is that still considered incest? At what point is incest actually incest? If anyones wondering why I'm asking these questions, I'm going for a degree in social science and doing a project on incest, but before I write on it or research it, I wanted to hear or read feed back from people and see if there is anyone who actually willingly participates. By the way I'll ask that you forgive the occasional spelling error.

In my opinion incest is incest when it is blood relationships....boundaries must be upheld within families. Incest causes so much trauma in families.....children abused.....children born with disabilities.....I am a social worker and have seen so much pain caused by incest.....

I don't think it should be considered incest if they are only related by marriage. However, I believe that you shouldn't have casual sex with this person if you aren't really in love with them. There are several types of love, and it's a shame that the English language only has that one word to describe them. One of these kinds of love is between two consenting partners, and another is developed between family members. A meaningless sexual encounter for mere pleasure has the potential to ruin a relationship between other family members as well as yourselves.
