I think it depends on how much stress you have already had to deal with. I unfortunately am like the cartoon they pass around the office- it shows a lady with bugged out eyes and hair that looks like she stuck her finger in an electric socket- the joke is "I have one nerve left and you are on it". Basically, EVERYTHING makes me uptight and makes me worry but, again, I'm working with only one nerve.

I have always been easily stressed; I never learned any coping mechinisms. It sounds like you are more than stressed - you sound depressed. Unfortunately, your sadness won't disapear until you learn how to cope with it and if you can't, try to determine the cause & change it.
If a person is under a great deal of stress long enough without knowing how to cope, it can trigger a mental illness. I know this from experience; it triggered bipolar illness in me. Depression is also considered a mental illness if it is so severe that you are having difficulty functioning. You wouldn't believe the underwear I had; it was easier to go out and buy it then to do my laundry. Everything over-whelmed me.
Make sure you do fun things when you're not working. That'll help.
Good luck, hon. You can do it!

I consider the state of the world and find what stresses me most and then try to do something about it...I am concerned about housing in FL so I joined the Sierra Club....To me worry is pointless and a bit selfish in that you go over and over an issue and resolve nothing..But we alll worry these days due to our exposure to the media and the state of the world. Let's face it we have opened a Pandora's Box in the Middle East....do you not agree? In that area, I am very uptight and constantly searching for the right answer and how I can help..No I do not' just don't care.' I would give much to improve life on this planet. How about you? Buba

All people worry, most of us worry about finances, the rest of us worry about cheating love ones. People in America view life as a race, a race to get the cheese, money, moola, run, run, run, you dirty rat. Personally I'm laid back, but I do care a little, people will do anything for money, so don't care to much, this is how you keep your stress at a minimum.

I worry about all kinds of things but not constantly. For example I worry about my child when she is sick or away from home. I worry about medical test results and when my doctor calls me. I worry about when I can't meet a dead line at work. Even though I have my worries and I tend to think negatively, I can still manage my stress level so it doesn't take control over my life.

Stress is a factor that gets the best of all of use sometimes. But these kind of questions interest me about people also. I wish I could find a career field that deals with that and that makes over $90,000 a year.

I am easily stressed, especially now after reading your question. I am so stressed about it that I will not be able to sleep tonight unless you vote it the best answer.
