my girlfriend is going to have our baby and she moved to texas to be closer to her parents while all this happens. My p.o. said that he doesn't belive that i can move since i don't have any immediate family there. also i was convicted in georgia and paroled to this state from there. Does anyone know of a way that i can move there with out getting in any legal trouble?

Maybe you can argue that you do have immediate family there, since the baby is yours? Otherwise, you will either have to wait until the baby is born, or until your probation is over. It wouldn't hurt to get a lawyer. Perhaps you can find a pro bono lawyer to help you. Good luck!

No.. I think if you move it will be a violation of your parole if you are still on parole.. if you aren't then you can do whatever u want.. just don't expect to find a great job- Texas is one of THE worst states for ex-felons to try and get a job.. Good luck

I'd have to know what the felony is, and what the terms of your parole AND probation are. There is a chance you CAN move to Texas. Your PO certainly SHOULD know this. If your PO doesn't, then FILE A COMPLAINT!!! Also, go see an attorney about it. Your girlfriend is pregnant with YOUR child...so yes you do have immediate family there....it doesn't matter that you aren't married to her though it might make it easier for you if you were married.

NO! Especially if your paroll officer says no. What you gonna do take someone's advice on here instead of your officers? Get a lawyer maybe? No wonder you went to jail and I suppose the baby is supported by welfare or food stamps, just what she needed was to get pregnant! Oh well, just another statistic to add to the growing numbers. Should have planned a little better huh? Gonna think next time or not?

"Legal trouble?"

First, you ought to know how very surreal all this is to the ordinary American citizen. While it is true that sometimes these days people have children out of wedlock, it says something that the woman wants to be near mom and dad rather than the baby's father.

But can the baby's father really understand his girlfriend actions, her actions that speak louder than any words.

"Legal trouble?"

Some people are just too stupid to make it in free society. Thank God for prisons!!

Your probation officer would have to ok it and you would need someone in the state of Texas who is willing to allow you to stay with them and somewhat be responsible for you. God bless

No, the only person who has any say so in what you can and can't do is your P.O. so if they say no, then you cant. Sorry
