A couple of people hit on what i was going to say....

Hulk has the POTENTIAL to be the absolute strongest since he has no limit to how strong he can be (because his strength is fueled by emotion).
Comparatively Cosmic beings like Galactus and the Beyonder have vast strength, more so then "Earthly Beings" and Gods such as Thor. PLus anyone who possesses the Infinity Gauntlet gains incredible strength... as does the person who is possessed by the Uni-power (which changes them into a version of Captain Universe).

Molecule Man gets "disqualified" because he is not stronger then many other contenders. The question was who was "strongest" not "most powerful".....

Zgundbar is spot on with what he said about the Hulk. He, theoretically, has infinite physical strength and durability. No upper limit to strength, but other than that, no cosmic power. It is worth mentioning that there are probably many other beings for whom having no "maximum strength" level would make sense for (especially the wielder of the power infinity gem.... it has 'infinity' in the name).

Galactus is a good answer, if you are looking for a being who actually has a reasonable chance to show up at a cosmic event that requires a show of strength and power unimaginable even to the likes of Superman.

I'm embarassed to admit, I know very little about the Beyonder. I DO, however, know that Eternity is Marvel's unofficial take on "God", and whenever the cosmos threatens to unravel, it's Eternity's job to reshape reality however he sees fit. There is only one being who can overpower his will. Strangely enough, it is only Eternity's will whom he is supposed to act against. That is the Living Tribunal.... the being that decided "The Infinity Gems are too powerful. They simply will not work together, starting now". And that was that. He turned off the Infinity Gauntlet like a light switch.

Researching these matters on wikipedia can be very entertaining.

Many of them are strong, yet the awkward silver surfer has the power to move the worlds. So, yes, he is the strrongest being in the Marvel comics. Wolverines pretty cool 2 though! :)

Who ever took the job as Marvels president after the last guy stepped down. Or we could just say Stan Lee..since well Jack Kirby and him created most of the Marvel characters we know and love today.

I think that Captain Universe (go ahead, look it up in the Marvel Directory!) is just as powerful as the Pheonix Force, and possibly even more so.

Not necessarily a who but a what. The Phoenix Force is the most powerful force in the MCU. It can create and destroy life with a thought. It once destroyed an inhabited galaxy. When Rachel Grey fought Galatcus with the Phoenix Force Galatcus relized that if he fed off it, it would sustain his hunger but all life would end. There is no limit to the power that the Phoenix has.

That depends, do you mean consistantly, or ever. If it is ever, clearly the choice has to be the Beyonder. He easily beat Galactus, no mean feat. However, Thanos and Adam Warlock (and Nebula momentarily) posessed the infinity guantlet for a time making them virtually master of all that exists.

If you mean who is consistantly the most powerfull in the normal Marvel Universe, I would give that to Galactus.

If the choice is down to Earth heroes and villains, then it has to be the Hulk

If you are talking physical strength, it's probably Galactus. If you mean strongest power, I'd have to go with Longshot. His was the ability to manipulate luck.
Imagine, oops, what are the chances wolverine would trip on a stone and stab himself in the skull, piercing his head and killing himself?

The strongest? That's a hard question. It's not the Phoenix, cause she was killed (I'm not talking about that garbage movie either), I would say Onslaught, Apocalypse, Galactus, Cosmic (whoever; they had plenty people get cosmic powers) Silver Surfer, and X-Man. I would even put Prof. X in there because if he went evil, there would be no stopping him
