Colt Brennan, a player from a mid-major confrence with a system designed for QB stats . . . leads D1 in a lot of categories, has a completion percentage of almost 80%, Most TD passes, and usually only plays a little more than half the game because he has 5 TD's, 400 yards and a 40 point lead. Don't know a defense that can totally shut him down . . . 34 points @ Boise St. But no one from Hawaii will ever win the heisman trophy.

The Heisman is supposed to be given to the best player in college football and that's a matter of opinion. I think Troy Smith is going to win it, even though he's not the best player in my opinion. The best player in college football is Colt Brennan of Hawaii, in my opinion, but no one would vote for him, people would say that the system makes him have the numbers he has and that it's easy for him to have the numbers he's having, but just look at the touchdown to interception ratio.

With the injury to Adrian Peterson, Troy Smith can start practicing his victory speech. There is nobody left that is even close. In fact, if Ohio State beats Michigan in the season finale on November 18, they can just hand Smith the trophy at the post-game press conference.

If Smith can win out and take them to the National Championship then I think he will win. If WVU beats Louisville and Rutgers and plays for a national championship and OSU loses to Michigan then I think Steve Slaten has a shot.
