just sidewalk. it's a multi-unit building. the city contacted me with an offer to plant a tree, permitting, etc for cheap so i'm considering it. but wondering what it does to the property value.

It's a tough one. As an appraiser I personally would not give it value for having a tree. However, it may add some curb appeal. Think about it; if two houses were exactly the same and one had a tree and one did not would you pay $10,000 more, $5,000 more for having a tree?

As long is it does not block views from the apts. I think it would be a good idea.
