i've been email someone for a few weeks but more and more they are insulting my taste in everything and i'm getting fed up.
i suppose they think there being funny but i find there comments quite hurtful
other than telling them to F off i dont know what to do

Don't open any of their messages. Just delete them as soon as they come in. Or mark them as spam, and that way your email service should just stop delivering them to you. If you have Yahoo, there is an option in your In-box. Just check the box next to the message you don't want and then click on the spam icon. You'll see it.
And what's wrong with telling them that you don't want to correspond anymore? You don't have to tell them F off, but you can firmly and politely tell them that you just don't feel that this is a relationship you want to pursue, and to stop emailing you. The beauty of it is, this is the internet and you don't even have to see their face or hear them b*tch about it. Once you've told them how you feel, keep deleting any other messages from them. After awhile, they'll get bored and leave you alone.

Stop emailing the person and when they get fed up of you not answering their mail back they might be considerate enough to ask you why, no one has the right to insult you like this person seems to be doing, even if they think its funny, you obviously don't at all, just ignore their emails and hopefully they will get the message, if their emails become even more insulting just change your email address so they can't contact you at all.

They'll get bored eventually. Can you get a new e-mail account? Indifference is the best medicine. Don't waste your energies on anything else, you'll have forgotten about this person and the situtation soon enough.

well, you can show that person that you are not interested and try to show that you have better things to do. stop the e-mailing thing. when (IF) they call or talk to you, say that you are kind of busy. they will become curious and want to know what drew your attention away from that person. Just say " I'm kind of busy, so please scram" or "I have to go, I don't have time" something like that, you know, to get their attention. do NOT, i repeat do NOT be nice or mean, be BORING, always have something to do, when they approach you.
