It may be easier to round up to the nearest hour and down to the nearest hour to get the whole hours.

So for 7:55 you have 5 minutes to get to 8:00 (round up)
And for 3:30 you have 30 minutes to get to 3:00 (round down)

From 8am to 3pm (8:00 to 15:00) is 7 hours. You can figure that out right? So all together for day 1 you have 7 hours 35 minutes.

For the next day you have 3 minutes to get to 8am and 19 minutes to get to 3pm. From 8am to 3pm is 7 hours, so all together for day 2 you have 7 hours and 21 minutes.

Now add these together and you have 14 hours 56 minutes.

For day 3 you have 10 minutes to get to 8am and 17 minutes to get to 3 pm. Again this is 7 hours and 27 minutes.

Add these together and you get 21 hours and 83 minutes... but this is the same as 22 hours and 23 minutes.

Continue adding them all up, but keep hours and minutes separate. And anytime you go past 60 minutes, subtract 60 minutes, but add 1 hour.

When you get your final total, multiply your answer times $4 / hour. Remember to turn the minutes into fractions of an hour. So 23 minutes would be 23/60 hours.

I'd give you the answer, but I think you'll learn more if you do it yourself. You won't have outside help on the test or in the future when you are checking your time card at work for accuracy. But if you learn the method, you'll be able to do this without problem.

I'll help with one, you can do the rest.

8:00 - 1:05 that is 5 hours and 5 minutes (assuming paid breaks and pro-rata for minutes.

5 hours at $4 = $20.00
5 minutes divided by 60 multipied by 4.00 equals 0.33
Total equals $4.33

Now, off you go. You may find it easier to use a 24 hour clock.
