Buy the same size as a general rule but I would definitely suggest taking the time to try them on because sizes range from brand to brand. Try on the bra and lift your arms up into the air. Are you falling out of the bottom? If so, it's too small. Also, needless to say, it should be comfortable for you. Hope I helped.

usually is the same size but it varies with designer. My bras in Victoria's Secret are always the same as the strapless. But when I bought a J Lo bra in Macy's I had to get exchange it

Well,if 36DD is your size,then that's what you should buy.But you can also try the 36D,see which one fits better, is more comfortable,makes you look sexier....then you definitely buy that one!
