getting technical here- it depends on the half-life of the pill. they're all different. mine, micronor, is so short that i have a 15-minute window every day to take it, othewise i'm out of luck. there are other brands where it is (while not good and not encouraged) possible to miss a day, take 2 the next day, and be fine. my kind doesn't contain estrogen, and that is a part of why i have to take it in that short time frame. the estrogen ones are more forgiving.

You have an hour window on either side (ie you could take it between 1:15 and 3:15). However, the reason you should take it at the same time everyday is because it is more effective. It doesn't mean that you WILL get pregnant if you don't take it at the same time everyday, but there is a greater chance that you MAY get pregnant. Do the best you can and consider another form of birth control, such as the patch, and use a condom for backup.

each and each and every time that you forget to take your contraception, you're in chance for being pregnant. once you've a 28 day cycle, that you in all likelihood do because you're taking pills, then your maximum in all chance time to get pregnant is about 13-15 from the first day of your very last era. possibly you may want to judge attempting the patch, its a lot a lot less complicated to keep in mind. I discovered the puzzling way, I have a three year old... i'm hoping this guidance facilitates.

I jus recently got on BC, and the physician eas explaining that it is crucial to take the pill at the same time everyday, give or take 10-15 min..but as long as you don't forget about taking them days on end then you will be fine...if you have a cell phone you should set a daily alarm to help you remember.

It's only if you miss a pill for a day or so. It usually says in the paperwork / information that came with them what it means specifically, but my brand of pills (Alesse) claim that you should only worry about getting pregnant if you miss your pill by 24/48 hours. You can miss your time by a few hours if you like, but as a precaution, you should try to take them everyday. :)

Continually missing or taking the pill late could interfere with the effectiveness. I'd suggest switching to a new time that will make it easier to remember, setting an alarm on your cell phone, or switch to a hormonal birth control that is less demanding. I have heard very good things about nuva ring, if you are interested.

The main reason they tell you that is so it becomes a habit and you're less likely to forget. Also, they don't work quite as well if you're being REAL erratic with the time taken. However, if you're only off by a couple of hours, you have nothing to worry about.

i dont think anything will happen. it doesnt have to be at the EXACT time. just dont miss a day. i think you have to miss it for several days in order for you to get pregnant. if your unprotected, that is.
