The answer will depend on the type of chemical treatment plant. Every factory in the US has a chemical treatment plant or a disposal program. The nature of the chemical treatment will depend on what type of factory it is.

This can even be extended to municipal treatment plants which will biochemically and chemically treat the municipal waste.

Solids are buried in national parks/forests in leaky drums to ruin the planet for our offspring.

It completely depends upon the nature of the solid. If it is toxic, it is reduced, then treated. If it is safe to incinerate, they will burn it. If it can be fuel blended, they will blend it.
