2. War of 1812-1814. Results: They learned they couldn't beat Canada, that they should make friends with Brittain, but they earned respect on the High Seas, no more search and siezure by the British Navy.
3. Mexican War. Result: They got a piece of Mexico. Many American leaders, generals, were embarassed at what they had done.
4. Civil War. Result: Confirmed that the USA was indivisible, lots of new armament developed, population diminished, slavery ended.
5. Spanish War. Result: independence of Cuba, and the Philippnes became an American colony.
6. First World War. Result: More influence on the world stage. Financial difficulties. Tendency to isolationism. afterward.
7. Second World War. Result: The USA became the greatest world power. Came out definitively from the isolationist stance. Became protector of Israel. Develpment of Nato....
8. Korean War. Result: Division of Korea into two nations.
9. Viet Nam war. Result: Division at home, being hated elsewhere, humiliation, and a certain loss of confidence.
10. Invasion of Granada. Result: A new government in Granada and expulsion of Cubans from that island.
11. Invasion of Panama. Result: Arrest of the president of Panama non charges of drug dealing. Criticism from allies.
12. Gulf War. Result: Iraq got out of Koweit, a fairly friendly reaction all around the world.
13. Invasion of Afghanistan. Result: The Taliban turned out of government, and general sympathy around the world for the USA.
14. Invasion of Iraq. Result: Saddam overturned and eventually arrested, country in a state of civil war, the USA is bein criticized and hated around the world, Afghanistan has been abandoned to weaker forces, such as the Canadian army, the job has not been completed and Bin Laden has not been caught.
I have skipped the overturning of democracies in Latin America - they were not considered to be wars.
