How do I keep my subwoofer from making a loud "THUD" everytime I turn off a lightswitch in my house?

I do not have the ability to plug the subwoofer into a dedicated switch.

Try using a surge protector on the outlet kinda like the one you should have on your computer.

Check to see that your cables are connected properly. Crossed wires are usually the cause for switch noise.

Sounds like the receptical is not grounded.Check and see if the electrical outlet has a ground

can you turn off your system until you want to use your sound sysem.
