If you are still paying child support then it means you have not kept a job on and off during the 19 years your son is living. You owe BACK children support. Just because the child is 19 means nothing. Example, If your balance is $10,000 dollars and your child is 25 you STILL have to pay the balance. sorry that is the law. The childs age changes nothing!!! But after the child hits 18 (If he is not in college or school) Your payments pass that age stop. But not the balance you owe. I would advise you to call the child support office and find out just how much do you owe. Get a review done. That also will help lower your payments. And remember you can always take her to court to have the payments lowered. If I were in your shoes... I would do that immediately. And just to be sure... blood test... if you have not already done so. Because if that child isn't yours, she would have to pay YOU back every RED CENT she owes you.

First of all you owe because you slept with a woman and impregnated her. You would have owed her if not the welfare dept. If she drew welfare, it may have been because you weren't helping her support the kid. By the way your child didn't cheat on you, she did. If you didn't like the way she was raising the child you could have sought custody years ago.
Anyway with that being said, you can seek to modify the amount being withheld, and even challenge the arrearage amount. You should seek a lawyer, but you can try on your own, contact the division of child support enforcement, or whatever it is called in your state and request a review.

You needed a family law attorney years ago. Her infidelity has nothing to do with your child support obligation. Your collection is probably for arrearages, meaning you fell behind on your payments and now the system is still collecting the back debt plus interest. Once your child turned 18, there would have been no more ongoing obligation, only back payments. As for the amount of payment, that should have been decided in court from your ability to pay and her income or ability to work and support herself. The courts sometimes favor the woman and don't require her to work if she is trying to take care of her child. There is a lot of history that needs to be sorted through in your case in order to figure out what has been going on and what still needs to be done. At the least, you need a hearing to review or reduce payments based upon changed circumstances. I strongly advice you to talk to a family law attorney in your area. Try one of the legal aid clinics at a nearby law school or call your county bar association.

You have to pay it back because they figure if you gave her enough money that she wouldnt have to be on welfare and if they dont allow you to get welfare if you make good money so I doubt that she was making that good of money and there is nothing really you can do because the government is going to get there money

my ex had to pay after the kids were grown, even though his son always lived with him. the catch was that she had custody of both kids awarded to her by the courts. so every month he pays, and she gets the money i have heard.see if it can be lowered.the kids are now adults, but every month he has to pay.

the only thing they can take from you is child support,so evidently you weren't paying it and she got A.F.D.C. So now you are repaying the money she recieved to raise your kid since you didn't.Live with it,I have no sorrow for men who won't pay support to raise their kids.

You need to get yourself a lawyer. Child support ends once a child turns 18. Seems like you're being incorrectly served! And, if you need assistance then go here — http://www.etides.state.pa.us/help/WageGarnishment.htm

You need to search for legal rights for men only. Check legal aid and ask for lawyer that deal with men only.
