You have numbers to back that up? I think millions of past military personel would disagree.

Since the armed forces are all voluntary services, relatively few families have close relatives in service today ... and that comment is not party specific. To demonstrate how things have changed from, for example, WWII, both my father and his only brother served in WWII. My brother and I were in the service (1956-1962 and 1966-1968) and then a whole generation was skipped without anybody serving. Now one granddaughter is serving in Afghanistan and there is no prospect that any other grandchild will volunteer.
Your question about why have so few Republicans worn our country's uniform in combat, based on my family's experience, could be generalized to the population as a whole.

I don't think that when a person enlists, they ask for your party affiliation.
The real question should be, why does our military have to spend so much time and money recruiting AMERICAN'S to serve their country?
WHY DO SO FEW AMERICAN'S want to serve their country? We all enjoy the benifits of those who served, What would we be doing if it weren't for the brave men and women who gave their lives fighting off the Japanees, or Hitlers armies? I don't think those people worried about who was a democrat or a republican.
Americans just act like a bunch of spoiled babies

It's far better to have a Republican who may not have served in a war but who is patriotic, than a Democrat like Kerry who served, but disrespects his country, and what it stands for and slanders our brave men and women in uniform. Today's speech told all. If anyone votes for him or any of his cronies now, may heaven help us all!

Actually, the number of Republicans who have been in the service is much higher than the number of Democrats. You wouldn't know that however, because Republicans don't just brag about their service records like the Democrats do...

They are "chicken hawks", meaning they are all pro war, but they have never actually been in the military. VP Cheney got 5 student deferrments during the Vietnam War. Rush Limbaugh got a 4F because of hemorrhoids on his big fat butt. Bush got one of 2 spots in the Texas Air National Guard that over 100,000 people applied for during the Vietnam War, and then missed a lot of his meetings. They never served so it means nothing to them. They don't care how many of our troops get killed, its just a number to them.

Because "Cimbat" doesn't exist. However, many have served in combat. Where in the world do you get your information?

When I served no one asked for my voter's card.
My son served in Iraq, no one ask him while he was on the front lines.
So where do you get this crap or are you just making it up?
