The one about the Green Lady Cemetary near my house. The story goes like this.....
There was a woman who lived on Upson road (same as the cemetary) and she married a wonderful man from her child hood. They spent many happy years together even though they were not gifted with children. Soon her husband took a liking to whiskey and would come home from the tavern a raging drunk. He would often go straight to bed and not bother with his wife. One day when he came in she was beaming and told him that she was pregnant, unfortunatley he was still angry from an argument with the bar keep about his drinking problem and he took it out on her. The first and last time he ever hit her. In a fury he bludgeoned her to death with the leg of the kitchen table, leaving stains upon the floor and walls, and slashed her belly open ripping the fetus from the womb and throwing it into the stove. He dragged her mutilated corpse down the lane to the nearby cemetary and placed her in an unmarked grave hoping to get away with murder. He created an alibi and the entire town believed him. He went on to marry the mayor's daughter and she soon gave birth to a son. Meanwhile his first wife's spirit reinhabited her body and rose from the grave. One day as the child was walking home from school he was stopped by a woman dressed in green, the same color as the moss covering the rocks nearby. She asked him if she could join him in his walk and he naively agreed. As they reached the house she proceeded to rip him limb from limb and burned the body as her husband did to her child long ago, leaving the head upon the table with a note. It read: "To my dearest husband, I am happy in your marriage with this new whore of yours and am now repaying you the kindness you once gave me. The remains of your son can be found mingled with the ashes of my child that never was." The mayor's daughter found the note and hurried to find her husband and tell him of what happened. Upon hearing the gruesome details he grabbed a shovel and rushed to the graveyard to dig his previous wife up. He dug six feet down and found no body, it had become late a night and the full moon had risen high above when a banshee's wail reached his ear. He fumbled for his pistol rushing from the graveyard when a root tripped him up and he fell himself into the hole he had just dug. At the lip opf the grave was a green apparition with the face of the woman he had come to unearth. Soon he was being sucked deeper into the soil and the shovel, moving of its own accord, was tossing dirt atop him. The entire town searched for him night and day for three weeks but nothing was found. Since then, during the full moon, when it hits its peak in the sky, any unawares traveler can see a green shape sitting upon the rock wall of the cemetary with a grim smile upon its face.
