Without question between the 3 major sports in the US you are right. I can't say why other than NBA has not been pressured by the public to lower salaries due to not having the fan base like hockey. Also keep in mind a NFL team consists of 53 players and the MLB is 25 you don't need as many big contracts since there is usually 2-4 good to great players on each team on average.

Because has the lowest number of players per team 15 compared to baseball between 30 and 40, hockey has between 20 and 25, football has alot not sure of actual number.

They dont, they have bigger bonuses and they have less players on one team so if you are taking an average, the 100mil contract of one player will boost the teams salary because there are only 13 other players. Also, NBA players have big endorsments, that may also be a factor.

they don't. on the average pro baseball players make the most money, do to longer careers. however basketball players have some of the biggest signing bonuses. FYI, did u know that basketball is the only sport that originated in this country that is still played to this day.

Even though baseball players make a hell of allot more money than any other professional sport, i will answer this question anyway....Because lawyers are expensive.
