Will we live to fly to work or to the store instead of driving? Are skycars a near future reality? I'm not talking about the inefficient, loud, very expensive and not-approved by government skycars that are currently made by Moller.

Neither. The technical problems involved in building a vehicle suitable for both air and ground transportation are formidable, and no inexpensive solution is likely any time soon -- or ever. But if you have more money than you know what to do with, you could probably find something that would work. Users would have to have pilot's licenses and instrument ratings (I have both) to be able to use such a vehicle effectively.

It is inevitable. Harley Davidson will be manufaturing such a vehicle in the next few years. NASA has already developed a series of "skyway" paths that cannot be modified by the pilot so if you need to get to a particular place, you would have to start at a particular flight station and progressively go from one flight station to the next.

Can you imagine? Look how badly people drive on the ground and that is relatively easy! I can see it now...Cars falling out of the sky because of "sky rage" and the mischievous possibilities are endless! Na, I don't think I want to be around when that happens. Have a good one!

I myself don't see sky cars as either inevitable or impossible, just impractical and a logistics nightmare. Good grief can you imagine the chaos if you have a multiple sky car accident? Hell, there'd be **** falling all over the place.

Unlikely. Very unlikely. The vehicles would be extremely expensive.
