Or, are they all equally as junky with their Tupperware dashboards, fiberglass shells and horrid resale values?

The third model style of the Corvette...C-3 was produced for 15 years. That's a very long time for any model without a change...except for the Model A and the VW bug.
The earlier C-3s were the power horses 1968-1972. These are the ones selling for unbelievable prices now. The later C-3 had poorest performance of all Corvettes. These are the Stingrays without chrome front bumpers, 1973-1982. Corvettes were caught in the emissions control invention period along with all other cars sold in the US. Performance dropped in all cars including the Corvette.
Most US cars have "horrid resale values" but the vette resale prices are not falling that much after a period of about 15 yrs. After that values increase! The later C-3s are selling higher now than 2 yrs ago. Maybe because fiberglass doesn't deteriorate like your bucket of rust.

corvettes kick a but the early 90s in my opinion were not "corvette beautiful". If by chance you are a civic man think about this a moment my cavalier which only has a short ram air intake can wop a civic with the full exhaust and cold air intake. Low resale... what are you smoking the vette has a higher resale value than just about any imported p.o.s and most domestic stuff a 1970s vette still sell at 7,000... wait a minute that is higher than it sold for back in the 70s.

'70's Vettes, despite the sexy body shape, were underpowered, slapped together and under engineered. Not really the fault of Bowling Green as GM was in one of their usual money and labor disasters at the time and left the Corvette division to flounder on their own. The accountants were pressing to eleminate the line altogether and it is a miracle the Vette wasn't converted to steel bodied four doors built on Citation X-body platforms. The '84 'new' platform was a definate step in the right direction to make the Corvette a legitimate car once again but as usual GM managed to choke the body design into a car that was two feet too long, five hundred pounds too heavy and the worst electrical system ever produced in an American car (until the Buick Reatta came along, anyway). The '90's finally saw the birth of a reasonably priced, well built rocket that was still not as sexy as the Stingray but was the fastest damn thing to blast out of Kentucky in twenty years. Today's Vette, though still a little stale on the design for my taste, is at last an economical alternative to the european elite -- at least in performance. Love it or hate it, you have to admit it's the closest thing to a race car you can buy off the showroom without having to cash in your 401K.
Just my two bit opinion....

My wife just bought me a 2003 Corvette Coupe. I have waited forty years to own one of these and it is the coolest experience ever! Equally as junky? You have no clue what you are talking about. I will let it go at that because there will be plenty of Corvette owners ready to take you to task! The worst Corvette ever made was probably the 1984.

Well I'd say non are really crappy. By today's standards the late 70's are less desirable. Many C1's C2's and C3's are highly collectable. An original Big-Block car can fetch well over $100k at auctions such as Barrett Jackson. Why so much hate for an American Icon like the Vette?
