Their hospitality, the food, the music, and how animated they always are. They're a very poor people, but they always find the best in every situation. They will go out of their way to help you. I love the dominican people so much that I married one, she's the best thing that's happened to me. The majority of the women know how to cook and almost all of the men can fix anything. The electricity goes out on a daily basis, but they make the best of it and even joke about it, same thing with their water supply. The MLB has tons of baseball players from the dominican republic, my personal opinion is that they're so good because they play "bitilla" starting at a very young age, it's a dominican-made-up baseball game that's very difficult. What's there to NOT love about dominican culture?? I go back to the DR year after year and LOVE every trip even more than the previous one :)

EVERYTHING. I love my country and I am very proud to be born is such a humble, small, nice, loving, friendly, hospitable and beautiful country. I agree 100% with the guy who posted a long comment a few moments ago, seems like he really knows a lot about the Dominican Republic. I don't live there no more, but I still feel 1,000 % Dominican, I believe our people, our food, music and culture is one of the best in the whole wide world. Can't wait for spring next year, where I'll introduce my husband to the land that I was born and grew up on.

What I love about Dominicans is that they are our brothers and sisters and our cultures overlaps. There is no other culture more similar to ours (Puertorican) on the planet than Dominican and Cuban culture.

Viva Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Cuba! United by a shared culture.

The Dominican human beings and their customs have origins in a different combination of African, Taino and eu roots. The Dominican Republic became the 1st Spanish colony interior the hot worldwide. The newly-arrived Europeans killed lots of the community Taino human beings by using enslavement and the introduction of ailments in the previous unknown to the community inhabitants, even nonetheless many Tainos fled into the mountains the place alongside with African escapees they formed Maroon colonies. The colonizers imported African slaves to interchange the natives. After the Haitian liberation of the total island, slavery became abolished and unfastened blacks (and those of mixed race) could be discovered all over the islands. in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, there are some differences in school and guidance that separate distinctive communities. the rich privileged prestige elite are specifically of eu descent, at an analogous time as maximum persons of the detrimental are of mixed race and of African descent. The metropolitan subculture available to the better type and vanishing (with the aid of financial turbulence today) midsection type is principally such as the existence of city dwellers interior the wealthy international places of Western Europe and america. yet this metropolitan subculture does not attain the poorest human beings, who would possibly no longer have the main effortless centers, needs, working water, electrical energy, sanitary centers nor customer electronics.

I have been going to the DR every winter to take a break from the cold. I love it there. The people are poor but happy with what they have. I think it is the friendliest place in the carribbean. I love the food, music, weather, beaches, and mostly the people. If I wasn't married I would find a wife there. I am considering retireing to the DR.
