I had a group of kids at my door waiting on candy as I had just given the last candy out. In desperation, I grabbed crayons and dropped a couple in each kid's bucket. As I was doing so, I heard a boy yell down the street, "Hey this house is giving away crayons!" The next thing I knew there were crowds of kids wanting crayons. Who knew crayons would be so popular?

I'd probably give them a dollar or so each. Not enough money to spark a stampede at my door, but enough so they can buy themselves a treat. On the other hand, kids are discouraged from accepting money from strangers, so that may not be a good idea. But it's all I would have on hand to give them. Good question. I think I'd better go buy some more candy...

I think I would give out the pack of bagel bites in my freezer, uhhh, I think I have a can of chicken noodle soup, and I have like fifty million apples. I wouldn't be able to turn anyone away! I would HAVE to give them something! Speaking of, I just had a friend of mine come trick or treating here, he is like 6'3 and I don't know how he gets away with it...anyway! Have a FABULOUS halloween!

My Sunday school class is handing out tracts with the candy, so I guess just the tracts after all the candy is gone!

Mabye some extra things, like stickers, or if you can do origami, make some fortunetellers. Also, kids like anything shiny.... if you have spare change, drop two or three coins in. If you can't afford that, then there's always just giving them a good scare!

Last year I handed out fruit once I ran out of candy...most of the kids weren't overly excited about that!

When my kids were younger we lived in an apartment complex. One year the kids came home and dumped out their bags.
People ran out of candy and they had money and one can of beer. I'm glad I made them dump their bags out in front of me!!
