I wouldn't play with it if I were you. Just rent a horror flick, shell out some candy to kids....and call it a night.

No, it's not a myth, however some understanding is needed. Ouija boards are basically just portals to the other side, a doorway if you like. As you know, on this earth there are good people and there are bad people. I know that is a bit black and white but for simplicity's sake, it'll do. It is important to realise that in the spirit realm there are the same good and bad people (not to mention those in between lol :D ) After all, it is just our bodies that die, the spirit still remains. Now, if the ouija board is the front door to the spirit realm, is it REALLY sensible to just open that door and invite any old Tom, Dick or Harry in? Would you really open your own house front door and leave it unguarded? Especially with a sign up saying ALL WELCOME!!?? Nope, thought not! Do NOT play with Ouija boards, unless you are a total idiot!!

Once more...Ouija boards were created back in the day for spiritualists to use...In order to contact ghosts and disembodied spirits. Now, on to the main part, Do you know what you're doing?

The answer, "No" or you wouldn't be asking on yahoo answers about it.

OK, answer for the occult minded. The Ouija board is used by clearing your mind, and allowing whatever is out there to take a ride. If you don't know how to filter out the nasties, and IF you don't know how to protect yourself, don't mess with the thing.

Answer for the skeptically minded (all demons are thankful for "rational men"). The Ouija board works by the subconscious mind subtly affecting the muscles in the arm, and moving the indicator around the board. Mostly this is random movements, but sometimes it actually forms words and sentences. Many folks, esp Americans, who aren't very introspective (the TV generation) have numerous repressed emotions, repressed ideas, and other things that they haven't dealt with in their psyche, this is what keeps the psychiatric community in BMW's. Many are not ready to confront, or even to acknowledge these repressions, and can have psychological problems after playing with a Ouija board due to these unresolved issues.

Take your pick.

If you call, something will answer. The question is, can you deal with what will answer?

it is not evil no matter what anyone ever says think about it its a board with letters on it, but evil spirits might talk to you so after you ask are there any spirits here then you need to ask if its a good spirit if it says no point the pointer to goodbye then flip over the board and the pointer and leave the Ouija board alone fer the rest of the day also DO NOT ask any spirit to show itself or give you a sign that will invite it into your house and you don't want that or if the spirit starts making demonic signs like a figure 8 or making 666 flip the board and don't let the pointer move off the board or the spirit will move into your house forever otherwise have fun and happy Halloween

The bottom line is that if you don't know what you're messing with (which nobody does in the case of Ouija boards, regardless of what they might believe), then DON'T DO IT! When I was 8, some of us made our own one at school. One of the girls kept asking the same question, and the board wouldn't answer - when she asked one time too many, the glass shattered, and almost went in he face. Needless to say it didn't take a lecture from the headmistress to convince us never to try it again!

Many people have tried it and found out that the forces behind it are very real. Some have been scared witless. It is a very dangerous practice and I would advice you not to do it. You WOULD be unleaching unnatural forces of evil which you have no power over.

Incidently all power is given in Jesus' name. I'm not a nut I know from experience that it's true.

There were some school kids messing with a ouija board in the dinner hour. It was homemade and they thought it would be harmless. They were using a medallion to point to the letters but it started rising off the school desk. My friends son, who is a christian, came in the classroom to see his friends as white as sheets - scared stiff - he had heard his Dad preaching against these things and knew what to do.
He said to the powers, "Go in Jesus' name" and the medallion dropped to the floor!
His friends became believers that day.

I myself have been wanting to try a ouija board but then i read that 5 young lads tried it and the spirit they managed to get in contact with spelled out that they were all going to die, and they did, all tragically, some from nasty accidents and some of them all of a sudden died from pneumonia for no reason. True story. You have to have alot of experience for this, ameteurs usually get a nasty suprise. I wouldn't dare really just to be on the safe side mate.

well i bought one, was fascinated by it as it makes a great ornament. Me and my partner used it one time and nothing happened. It is still sitting here in my lounge and nothing at all strange has happened whatsover. Still becareful though the only reason i aint gonna go on it again cos otherwise i know i would have to throw it out! I do believe these things work...thats why i daren't keep messing about on it. As long we leave it alone then all is ok.

It is extremely dangerous to your spiritual welfare. Dabbling with the occult can open the door to the influences of evil spirits. It has nothing to do with ghosts, who are the spirits of dead people and are harmless. Evil spirits are quite capable of posing as ghosts in order to deceive.

Evil spirits can have a real oppressive influence on your life, and very severe cases can actually lead to possession.
BEWARE!

I definitely wouldn't. When I was about 14 i did one with my friends on a holiday camp. First it spelt out 'claire' then 'andreas'. One of my friends who was at the ouija board returned home and his girlfriend, claire, was on crutches after falling off her horse. Then my close friend, who had actually only met the other friend that day, got back to the town where we lived and her good mate andreas was on crutches as well following a football injury. Was scary, i wouldn't mess with it again.

If you think it is a myth and nothing will happen then go for it.

But if you think it is not a myth be careful. From experiance and stories I was told that basically is an invite to darker things and should be taken seriously. Once you invite that in theres no saying if it ever goes.
