Neither of course.

We do not control what we feel, only what we do.

Whether you love unconditionally or not, or whether the person deserves it, or whether you shouldn't is all part of what you feel.

Now, what are you doing? Are you acting in a way that is saintlike or in a way that is wussy?

A mother might love her child unconditionally. If that leads her to give in to him at every instance then she is acting wussy and hurting the child in the long run. If her love leads her to bear all the trials and continue to discipline with love and help and work for the child, then that is saintly.

So, regardless of how you feel, you can choose to act saintly or wussy. Up to you.

Are you loving that person because that person is totally loveable? Giving love to someone is a gift. Maybe the person you love in not capable of loving any more that you are getting. It's a wonderful gift, but not able to be returned. I write this from experience. You can love as long and as much as you want and if the person you love isn't giving you what you want, it may be because that's all that person can give. If it's not enough for you, maybe it's time to move on. Sad but true.

The only way to love is unconditionally. You can't measure someone's love, only your own.

"What is in a name? That which we call a rose by any other word would smell as sweet." As Juliet said in Romeo and Juliet...and it could not be said better...
