Vampires feed off of peoples energies not blood, thats only in the films! a vampire is some one who you find saps your strenght to be with.

They need blood and somewhere to avoid any sunlight during the day. Usually a crypt or mausoleum or coffin would be used.
Althought technically they aren't alive. They are considered the Undead--Those not living or dead.
