East coast colleges prefer ACT while West Coast colleges prefer SAT. ACT is a lot easier but it has science. Unless youre good at science, you should take teh SAT but if you want to go to a east coast school, then take teh ACT

It depends on what you're good at. The ACT tends to be closer to the skills learned in a college-prep high school curriculum, while the SAT is more oriented toward logic and thinking skills.

Most colleges will accept either test, though those in the Midwest and South tend to prefer the ACT while those on the coasts prefer the SAT. If cost is not a factor, I'd suggest you take both. You don't have to report your scores to any college until you know what they are. You can see what you get and report the better score to the colleges you are interested in.

They are about the same, but make sure you take the one required for the schools you are applying for.
