I am so Affraid....?

Question

Tommorrow im going to the doctors to get my possible kidney infection under wraps, And Im going to also get a pregnancy test. Im so affraid of what theyre going to tell me. And if its negative, Im gonna get a blood test to be possitive. It seems that girls in my family have wierd results with urine tests. So im not sure. Im nervous.

I am guessing you are worried about the pregnancy test coming out as a false positive. This does not happen often, but just tell the doctor or lab nurse that your family has a history of false/positives on lab work. They may do more than one type of test or they may have you come back at a later time. Have you tried an over the counter test (you still have time tonight)? I hope things come out the way you want...and that you get that kidney infection cleared up too.

Dear Afraid, try not to cross your bridge before you get to it. Stress and nerves can give a false positive or negative sometimes. If I may suggest, go ahead and just do the blood test first and then you will know for sure what you might be facing. Have you tried a home pregnancy test? It might put your mind to rest until you can be seen for the blood work.
