EVAP is your evaporative emissions system. The gasoline vapors from your gas tank are pollutants. And even when your car is sitting (if not controlled) these pollutants would go off into the ozone. So they put this EVAP system on cars to collect the vapors. Then when you are your car is running the vapors are purged into the engine where you can burn them. Fancy that - not only an emission system but also a way to save from wasting fuel (you get to use the fuel rather than just releasing the vapors to the atmosphere).
There are a number of parts on this systenm including the carbon canister (where the vapors are stored), the gas cap which helps seal the system, the compuetr that controls when the vapors will be purged, the valve, etc.

So, what I would do, is take it to a shop and have them diagnose the faullt. Not a big deal at all, and if that is your only concern with your new car - Enjoy!
