I agree, No raisins or pennies... I actual have been noticing nevertheless that many companies are relaxing sizing their products for trick or treaters... At Wal Mart the different day I observed pretzels and Oreos in small bags to be surpassed out... no longer as undesirable as candy, yet no longer as lame as raisins!

I give out lollipops and gum for a simple reason.
One people are allergic to peanuts and I would be so upset if a kid got hurt from the candy I gave them... some people are allergic to chocolate.
For the little kids aka toddlers I give safety pops. They are pops that have circle rope other than a stick.
You can have the other candy. I would just ask. I know most of the kids in my neighborhood so i know which ones who are and aren't if i don't recongonize them I ask.

candy, granola bars, little debbie cakes, found some animal crackers this yr. I have also found lots of pencils and playdough this yr. We got books a couple of yrs in a row. I have also had people give out change, or the sm pops or juice boxes. most places need to have things individually wrapped otherwise if you hand out homemade things or like fruit, you need to give your name and adress so that if something is wrong w/ them there is someone to contact. liablitlity thing.

Not just any kind of candy, but "Good" candy...Reeses, Twix, M&M's. If you are loooking for non-candy ideas....the little kiddos love stickers, or those glow in the dark bracelets. I got 12 at the grocery store for $2.99 for the really little kids who are not yet into candy.

(Wrapped) Candy, small booklets (jokes, puzzles... you can find them at Party City)...
You have to get it at the store, though, those "darn terrorists" of Joe and Jill down the street are poisoning their candy, according to some parenting magazines!
