Hi, I'm 15 weeks and a couple of days. This morning woke up with a 'firm' bump. Contractions on and off for hour or two. When I asked about it I was told that these contractions can happen from this early on in pregnancy and are n ot the same as ones which open up the cervix. I would still phone your midwife though, it won't harm you to get mind put at rest with a bit of monitoring. You'll only worry if you don't. It does not necessarily mean that you are losing your baby though!!!
Good luck, take care

It's not normal. I had contractions last week (at 17 weeks pregnant) and found out it was because I was very dehydrated. The doctor checked everything out and decided I was fine otherwise, and then I had to drink 64 ounces of Gatorade every 24 hours for a few days and things returned to normal. There are other possible causes for contractions that early though. Please get these checked out by your doctor as soon as possible to make sure that everything is okay and to correct whatever is causing the contractions.

Best of luck for a healthy pregnancy!

i know with my second i had cramp pains in the early weeks and they say that's normal because you are stretching again, but i would expect this in the early weeks. i believe something as important as this should be checked as soon as possible you have has 8 children and know your own body. you know you will not relax until you get the all clear. please ring your midwife. some good sites to view for other pregnancy concerns are, www.hunnybeez.co.uk www.ukparents.co.uk www.pampers.co.uk
i wish you all the luck and hope everything is OK please let us all know how you get on,x

Please get this checked out right away! I don't want to alarm you but I had this with my first pregnancy and I miscarried. I hope you and the baby will be fine but if it was me I would go to the hospital and insist they check you over.

I wasn't sure whether to post this answer but I would rather you saw the doctor now and everything was okay.

I wish you all the best and I'll be thinking of you.

Yeah it's normal to get "fake" contractions.. but the only part that worries me is the fact you are only 15wks. I would ask your doctor what's going on. Best Wishes.
