He's mindless enough to be a lib.
His public statement is no deviation from his normal intellectual range.

This is at least the fifth time someone has asked this question today, and obviously not one of you has read his comments.
He did not call our troops dumb. He pointed out that the military heavily recruits enlistees that only have high school diplomas. It was that way when we drafted and like or not it is that way now. The armed forces of nearly every country have long recruited those with less education who are looking for a start in life. Look it up. It's a fact. Kerry never said these troops were stupid. He never said all of these troops were not well educated. This simply pointed out a commonly known fact and those who wish to are reading it in a completely different way.

Excuse me child,
The ignorance displayed in both the republican attacks on Kerry and the quick skewed media responses to his words build on Kerry's argument that a lack of education does, in fact, lead one to make foolish decisions to go into the country of Iraq on premises of WMD and leave talking about liberating the gov't (when of course our gov't released reports that more terrorism has occurred since out "invasion").
It is obvious when someone watches the video that the former Vietnam veteran is talking about the Bush Adminstration and not the men in uniform for whom he was once a part of. I honestly would trust a person's opinion on troop issues when that person has ACTUALLY served in a war. Unlike the service good ol' richboy George W. Bush did by evading serious combat with a couple of daddy's phonecalls.
Look at Kerry's response and you decide what he meant.

Look at the column on the left. There are two related videos. The one that shows his initial comments and another which shows his response.
Step up child.

He didn't refer to our troops as dumb. He said doing poorly in school could mean you get stuck in Iraq. Since military recruiters go to schools, shopping malls, and poor towns specifically to target kids who have little or no education and no jobs, it hardly seems fair to lambaste Kerry for pointing it out. Recruiters seek out kids who, due to poverty or lack of education, feel the military is their only option. That's how they fill their quotas.
Kerry served with a lot of young kids in Vietnam who had no higher education, and were drafted right out of high school. He's seen first-hand what happens to such kids. It's not that they have no brains and no potential, it's just that wars have a tendency to get people killed, and then they never get to realize their potential. Why waste it on an illegal, unwinnable war? Do you actually think Kerry was saying anything different than thousands of parents are saying to their sons and daughters--stay in school, don't go into the military, and don't get sent to Iraq?
I realize, with all the ugly scandals the Republicans need to play down, it's too much to expect they wouldn't jump on Kerry's remark and twist it for all they're worth. Still, you'd think they'd realize most people won't buy it.

Hi If you listen to what John Kerry said carefully ,he was referring to our wonderful president of the United States.Thou he could have expressed it a different way I suppose,so he botched it.Listen closely at what he said.So he may of shot himself in the foot, but I would not apologize to any right wing. They have nothing else to argue with in their corner.

He called Bush dumb, NOT the troops. You can try to spin it any way you can, but the majority of Americans ain't buying it anymore. The Republican party has lost what little soul it had and it is time to shovel the last of the dirt into that hole. Bush et al, are dead meat.

Kerry's words are being twisted. The he was talking about how the more education people have the more opportunities they have. Less education, less opportunities. But I do agree that it was very tactless on Kerry's part because there are lots of people in the army so that they can get an education.

John Kerry has a habit of insulting troops.
He called them rapists like Ghengis Khan
He called them war criminals
He called them terrorizers in Iraq.

Kerry has demonstrated his willingness to sell out our boys and girls in uniform over and over again. How the terrorist must love him. I bet they are running spots on terrorist TV right now.
