and can a person not pay taxes because of this being against their religion?

I think (but not for sure) that right now each individual state makes its own laws for if and how abortions will be funded, largely or completely based on recent Supreme Court rulings, or even from some not-so-recent rulings, especially Roe v. Wade.

Sorry, but we still have to pay taxes for behaviors and practices we don't like if they are already made into law.

The only way to avoid or stop altogether paying taxes for abortions and such would be to pass new legislation to overturn any previous laws or statutes regarding the issues in conflict, or to vote for those issues to be defunded (made up word) by the government so that they would have to be paid for by private means.

In any case, it would take a long time and a lot of money to do this, but once again, it depends mostly on the electorate in your state.

Abortions - doubt it, medicaid and welfare is a needs based aid. If you don't need it, then they won't pay for it.

Taxes, no, you have to pay taxes regardless of your religion.

Churches have tax exempt status because they are non-profit organizations that serve the public, not any owners.

I don't know for sure about the abortions, I hope
not though.

I can tell you that their are some church organizations that do not pay taxes because of
there religion.

Also, there are religions that don't have to go to war.

It would seem a cost effective way of doing things, I hope they do.

You do not have the option of not paying because you don't agree with where the money spent.
