The Shiites and Sunnis would tear each other apart in a brutal and bloody civil war of the worst kind.
Oh, wait, that's what's happening now.
Yeah, it was and still is kind of a lose-lose situation over there.

How do you think things would have turned out in Iraq, if Bush had taken action before 9/11 like the CIA had warned?
And no, Clinton was no better, but at least Clinton TRIED before 9/11.

I doubt seriously it would have turned out much differently, maybe just over a different period of time. Bush and his backers are all oil barons, that is their biggest interest. I think.
