ok probably another silly question from me, i would ask my midwife but i can't get in to see her until the 10th of november...

anyway, my baby is due on 13th of this month (2 weeks) and just since yesterday i have had some yucky discharge it's yellowish in colour has doesn't really have an odour to it, i was wondering what it could be i don't think it's my "mucous plug" because there is no blood and it's definately not thrush. would any of you know if it's anything to worry about? i tried to get in to see the Midwife earlier but i can't :(. i have also had to wear a sanitary pad as i have had a bit of a leak that i can't seem to control. ( not a heavy leak by the way).. so any advice would be appreciated i hate being such a worry wart but i would rather know what it is than not know at all.

thanks

yellow-green discharge is fine, as long as you have not ruptured your membranes. If you have any doubt of this, have it checked out. It is easy to determine if your membranes have ruptured. If they have, greenish-yello fluid can be a sign that the baby defecated in-utero (meconium) and you should be monitored and, possibly, be delivered. You can remain 2cm and 100% effaced for several weeks. Once you start having contractions every 3-5 minutes, at the level of your belly button, with each contraction lasting for at least 45 seconds, you should be checked again.

I would go see a normal doctor to make sure nothing is wrong.

Question, not to sound rude but if you go into labor before your appointment will that get you to see your midwife earlier? I would think that being so close the midwife would try to see you as much as possible like an ob/gyn.

I would go to the ER! This is a prime example as to why women should see a DOCTOR not anything or anyone else. My doctor would have had me in her office within 2 hours to check for problems. You may have a tear, and your "water" is leaking from the tear. My advice is to get your behind into a medical facility, fast.

If it was your plug it would be very very thick and unmistakable. If you think you are leaking fluid then you have to smell it (I know it sounds gross) But I was in the hospital about every 3 days the last month of my pregnancy because I thought my fluid was leaking and my midwife told me that if it smelled sweet to have it checked out but if it smells like urine - -well you know. And anyway shouldn't you be at the doctor every week anyway in the last month. I went to see my midwife in the morning and had an exam and 3 hours later I went to have my fluid checked and it was leaking they had to induce and I had my son 10 hours later.

You might have an infection. Forget waiting for the midwife and go to the Labor and Delivery and if they will not look at you go to an ER. If you go to the ER they can't refuse to see you. During this time in your pregnancy you are supposed to see your midwife every week not every two week(from what I remember).

Something in your question jumped out at me...

You're 38 weeks and you have a leak you can't control?

It's time to call a doctor.

Seriously.

I would call ANY doctor immediately. Your water may have broken. It doesn't always gush out it could come out in spurts. Seriously though- I would call RIGHT AWAY!! Good luck!
