Hamilton would already have an NHL team if Toronto would co-operate. There is enough Fan base to support it, Toronto alone could support a couple of teams..but it is about revenues for Toronto. Heck they might even be forced to put together a decent team and contend every few decades..

Yes I think Hamilton should have an NHL team. The problem is that Hamilton is in a bad spot inbetween Buffalo and Toronto. If Hamilton would get a team it would effect Buffalo alot more than it would Toronto. I think that Buffalo is against Hamilton getting a team because it would effect thier fan base. I do think that Winnipeg and Quebec should have a team. It was too bad to see the Jets and Nordiques leave.

Hi hotter196:
I do think Hamilton does deserve a NHL team! It was known through out the league that Harold Ballard (who used to own the leafs and Maple leaf Gardens) would never allow a team in Hamilton since it would take away from his profits. If Hamilton did have a team, The Maple Leafs would loose allot of fans from the Hamilton areas who go see an NHL game.
I lived all my life in Dundas, Ontario until i moved to Edmonton,Alberta and I either had to go to Buffalo or Toronto to see a game.
I could never understand why the league would give franchises to places that don't have the support to fill an area (Phoenix, Carolina, Florida). It always amazes me that they let areas in the States to have hockey teams where the only ice they really know about is the ice that goes in there drink!
Thanks
Randy Scott

I think it's a crime that all the NHL teams moved out of Canada (and I'm an Avalanche fan). I'd love to see Winnipeg and Quebec City have teams again, and Hamilton seems like a logical choice, even if the Maple Leafs may put up a fuss because they're too close and would impinge on their market.

Hockey shouldn't be played in the southern United States. It just shouldn't.

I dont think Hamilton has what it takes to support an NHL franchise. The arena itself is an issue as you would need a very large arena, and fanbase is a major issue considering how the Leafs are right next door.

I do think there should be more NHL teams in Canada. Maybe take them out of southern states (i.e. Florida) and re-insert Winnipeg and Quebec. Would love to see the Jets back!

Sure Hamilton should get a team.

It really isn't a matter of money per se - its a matter of money AND exposure. Most canadian cities do not have large TV audiences. Even a city with 200 000 people (ie Saskatoon) would sell out every night in Canada but with no TV deal - they wouldnt make much money.

I think there should be teams in Quebec, Winnipeg, Hamilton, Halifax.

If there was also better revenure sharing - you could see a city like Saskatoon or Regina with a team ---- think Green Bay Packers

well to the people thinking there will be no attendence, well they will surtanly sell out compare to the teams down south like Phoenix, Florida, Carolina, Anaheim, Columbus, and some more teams. it back at the time when we lost are two teams yes money was a problem but they needed to build a new arena which they didnt have the mo0ney to do. but in Winnipeg and Quebec they now have new arenas and will sell out every game. in Hamilton they have the Copps Colisium and its was build in the 80's and its bigger then most american arena, the only thing about Hamilton its close to Toronto so it might not work. but Kitchener-Waterloo might be the right place if hockey does come back to Canada which it should cause this is are game. the Canadian dollar is up compare to back when we lost are two teams way up, and with the new salary cap it would work perfectly but now its up to this no good comishiner Gary Between to get fired or rezine cause he has hurt this game i love so much really bad and he needs to go. but first place is Winnipeg then Quebec to get new teams then others to follow like Kitchener-Waterloo, no more teams in the USA exept for maybe Hartford they to had the fans just needed the new arena and didnt have thew money at the time to build one, look at Minnesota they didnt have the money and lost their team, but Bettman brought them back and so shoulf the old Jets and Nordiques come back. if a team folds in the US it will hurt this game much more if they put another team in the US.

robert m>>>> no Don Cherry is from my home town of Kingston Ontario.

~O.N.E.~>>>>.Copps Colisium has a capacity of 19,000 bigger then most arenas in the US.

GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!!!1

If Hamilton does get a team, it'll be another Toronto-named team (like the Rangers and Islanders, Yankees and Mets). And yes, we should get a couple more teams. At least have some NHL pressence in Winnipeg again. They did it in Minnesota, why not there?

Also, with Bush dragging down the US dollar, it'll be easier to pull the finances available to make that happen.

Yes there should be a lot more NHL teams in Canada. You have the tradition the most insightful audience but since money rules absolute in NHL it's hardly likely!
