With the party's back against the wall, the Republican sleaze machine went into high gear this past week, appealing to the inherent racism, bigotry and homophobia that lie within GOP extremists, hoping that fear and ignorance will turn the tide in an election they can't win on truth or the issues. The Republican National Committee paid for a television ad in the Tennessee Senate Race, hoping that racial overtones can derail Democratic candidate Harold Ford by suggesting he chases white women and parties with Playboy centerfolds. "We made race an issue in Tennessee ," bragged one GOP political operative. "That always plays in our favor." Yes, it does. The Republican Party is so overrun with racists, bigots and homophobes that appealing to such stupidity always plays in their favor.

You know, it constantly amazes me that Liberals, who are the ones who claim to be rational, adult, understanding, compassionate, and peace loving, always seem to be very good at immature, ignorant name calling. I am going to assume that you are probably younger than 26, are either going to or have gone to college, and are finding out that the real world will kick the **** out of you once you actually set foot in it. If you would stop listening to everything that the media spouts at you, and actually talk to people, (this would include *gasp* people who have different opinions from yours of course), you would find that the freight train of discontent you speak of is largely a fabrication of people whose job it is to sell advertising on news shows. When you finally get some experience in how the world works, your opinion may change. Until then, if you insist on acting like a child, people will still consider you one.
