Maybe that doctor is concerned about the other 15-20% of babies that don't deliver naturaly and all "perfect". It is important to learn everything about child birth, and that INCLUDES knowing all the possible things that need to be done, and techniques that may need to be used. My friend lost a baby during delivery because the doctor kept pushing her to deliver naturaly, and wouldn't do his job. Baby was in distress and basicly had a heart attack during delivery. A c-section done 5 minutes earlier would have saved her sons life. Is a "natural" birth worth that? My husband and I were educated on everything! Medications, procedures, c-sections, forcepts and suction deliveries. My daughter was born c-section because of distress and it was worth it! I am glad my doctor decided a healthy baby was more important that a natural birth. If you miss out on learning everything aspect of everything they could do, or may need to do....you might miss out on a life. Maybe talk to your doctor about a class he/she would recommend and learn everything....not just the "natural" things.

There is nothing wrong with the Bradley Method. I would see a midwife who would be more open to alternative methods to birthing a baby. You could also contact a Doula who can help with Bradley Methods (porfessional labor coach) to be present at the birth along with your OB. Good luck with the pregnancy!

Sounds like he isn't a supporter or unmedicated birth and having dad involved with the birth, since that's what Bradley is about. If it were me, I'd be RUNNING to a new doctor.
