with me, it depends on the effort they put to it.

-if older kids show up in a costume... they get candy.
-If they show up taking care of younger siblings, with or without a costume, they get candy.

- if they show up in street clothes, or even with a goofy hat with street clothes. They get invited to come back once they've had time to put on their halloween costume.

No. Why do the kids get all the fun?

However there is a difference in a teenager showing up in regular clothes expecting candy rather than in costume. If an adult showed up not in costume, I would guess that they were escorting the kids. Then again, I've never seen just adults show up at the door.

It really used to when I was an older kid. (13 or so) But I would never give them a lecture. If they're not emberrased enough to keep them from asking, go ahead & give 'em candy.

Now on the other hand, if they've really gone all out with a great costume & are in "character, it's deffinately worth shelling out some candy in payment.

well being only 17 myself, yes i think im too old, but i've been told to quit being the mature one and be a kid for the little time you have left, also, I'd prefer the highschoolers go trick or treating, lets be honest, if they aren't trick-or-treating, then they'll most likely be drinking.

I'd rather have the older kids trick or treating then throwing eggs or tp-ing someones house. There's nothing wrong with having fun.

teens, not necessaraly. @ least if they are trick or treating they are not getting into other trouble, right? Adults, unless you know them and they are trying to be funny,LAME. But I don't give them lectures, they have resources and ideas to get back ie egging your house. Maybe these people you dump bills or tuna or something like that in there sack

nope... well most kids these days even if there 18 I still don't consider them adults. Just because I have a sister whose 22 and she's and more of a kid than an adult.

Its free candy... There not that stupid. As long as there dressed up they get. if not no candy.. That's my rule.

I think it's funny. I won't give them a lecture, but I will make fun of them. Once you hit a certain age, I think "Go buy your own candy and spend Halloween doing something fun." I guess these "older kids" just haven't found out how fun Halloween is for adults.

A little bit. If I'm handing out the candy I'll just give them smaller and fewer pieces. But if they're being really mean and obnoxious then they get nothing.
