Because it is an election year.
I hate that the answer truly is that simple, but it is. Politics is the truest form of espionage in any sense of the word. Politicians represent one thing, and are another. They use information for disinformation. They lie, cheat, steal, beg, borrow, and all out attack if it will help them achieve their goals.
To some extent, I find it fascinating, but at the same time I find it sad and horrible. John Kerry is no different, or better, or worse, than any other politician out there right now. They are all fumbling around in the dark with nothing but a flashlight and a bunch of assumptions. I hate to turn this into more than what the question really was about, but the fact is that until we find a way (if we ever can), to stop the bipartisan nature of politics in this country, we will never get anything even close to the truth from anyone in the system.

If you saw an idiot lighting a house on fire would you call the fire dept. even though you had no interest in the house and/or property? If that same idiot started a war and went in with NO plan and a bunch of people died because of that would it be YOUR obligation to plan HIS war for him?If he said that because you disagreed with him people should question YOUR patriotism, would you call that a lie?? If you said "Stay the course" on at least 30 different occasions and then said"We've never been stay the course." Would it be okay to point out that no matter how you spin it you just lied? And just to make this point for you which Fox News personality excepting maybe Alan "mumbles"Coombs could you comfortably trust loaning a large sum of money to.? None? then why would you trust them with your intellect?

2. Everything is politics first, Americans second with this administration, and yes, they are "hacks who are willing to lie" to achieve their political ends.

c. Provide better quality training for Iraqi troops.
d. He even prefaced his vote for threatening Saddam with invasion by clearly illustrating the reason they gave him the power and how not to abuse it. Bush went on to abuse it.

Ah, John Kerry is nothing but a rich kid now living off his wife. His greatest asset is being a rich blowhard, not to be taken seriously by any thinking person.
He'll be a joke competing against the 'real men'.

Blaming America for all the world's ills is his solution.
George Soros says so and Kerry, of course, believes him.
The entire DNC is pinning their aspirations on blame America.
At least one group agrees with their views: the terrorists.

'Cause it's so easy?
Let's face it, the republicans have left the door wide open to criticism. They've had full control of the political power of the country for 6 years, and have totally blown it. I see nothing wrong with calling them on it, even if a "new plan" isn't put forward...although, of course, it would be better if he *did* offer solutions :)

Mayabe you need to go back and really read some of his speeches in detail. He is recommending acountability in the oval office, letting military generals plan for actions and eventual withdrawals in Iraq (and actually using these plans), backing up our mission in Afghanistan with adequate force, providing our troops serving in combat zones adequate supplies, and telling the citizenz of this nation the truth.
Sounds like a plan to me.

Kerry betrayed his own fellow soldiers.
You can't get lower than that.
To betray your own would take scum.
And Kerry knows it, too.
