I live here because its alot cheaper and unless you like strip bars or massage parlours or clubs for dancing and getting wasted on your *** or need something from a pharmacy there is no good reason to go . There used to be cheap stuff you could buy here but not anymore. In fact most every mexican who can get a passport do all thier shopping in the states. There are no sights to see and it doesnt even look like old mexico anymore. All there are is clubs and pharmacies. Truthfully I prefer taco bell and jack in the box when it comes to tacos but everyone has different tastes. ALot of people come just to eat tacos. The beaches here I wouldnt even let my dog in the water since they still have black waters running into the ocean even tho they arent supposed to and black waters if you dont know is straight up sewer water. The line to cross is always hours long unless you are lucky. You dont want to drive down here. BUt if you do decide to come walk across and as you go thru the gate you will run straight into yellow taxis. Those are the only ones you want to take and most know English and are lets say hooked up to all the the good spots. You only have to tell them what you want to do and they will get you there , you can even pay them to stay with you at places if you dont feel safe. They will be your body guard. The people you dont have to worry so much about but the police you do. The police here should all be doing life since all they do is break the law . They are so coruput it is ridiculous. This is why you dont want to drive especialy if you have a nice car. They sit and wait to see American plates on a nice car so they can pull it over and hustle 40 or 50 dlls from the person. I cant see why you would want to go to the beach in San Diego in late January either tho. you do know that it does get cold and rains in southern califas dont you. Its not like the song "It never rains in southern california" we are only in the first part of november and I have the heater on. But then again if you are coming from a place where it is snowing then I guess it would be warm to you here.
Rules to remember if you come to Tijuana, Dont get to wasted , Dont get into any fights where you might draw blood, Dont go by yourself to 1st street where all the hookers are, Dont let anyone convince you into going anywhere with them. Dont use your atm card unless you are sure no one else is around, DOnt go on any side streets, DOnt buy any drugs, Dont bring any drugs, Dont do any drugs, Make sure you have legal ID., Never carry large bills and always keep your money in seperate places and get your money changed into pesos because if anyone sees that you dont understand the peso value against the dollar they will get you good. If you like to party TJ is the place to go though but thats about it. Hope you have fun what ever you decide to do and if you do decide to come to TJ you can always write me later and I can give you any info you might want or need.

There are lots of passions to follow in San Diego and this hotelbye is the area to begin finds what San Diego needs to offer. In the San Diego holiday you'll stage outside of one's safe place and you will examine new actions while you're here and you could only see that discovering a new goal can be an adventure in itself. One of many places should see from San Diego is Balboa Park. This park has around a 1400 acre and here you will find famous buildings, numerous museums, gardens, and green space. The park was made for the Panama California Exhibition of 1915-1916. The commonplace architecture is Spanish-Mexican style, minimal stage buildings that merge with the organic surroundings. On the list of features of the park would be the Botanical Gardens and lily pond, the Museum of Man, the Museum of Natural History, the San Diego Museum of Art, and the popular San Diego Zoo. Even if you never go into a creating the park is simply an attractive place.

For just a long weekend I probably wouldn't go. It does however depend on your age and what you consider fun. A short shopping trip to downtown is possible (and can be down in a few hours) if you take the bus from the border and return ($8 for bus fare). A night on the town really should only be done accompanied by someone who is familiar with the town and knows what he/she is doing. Women should be especially careful.

If you are a woman, do not go alone. There has been a rash of kidnappings that have been reported in TJ and there was just a special report on the news about the sex traffic trade. Stay in areas frequented by tourists, do not stray off the main streets and try to return to the US while you still have daylight. If you have any concerns, check the state department's website before you go. Also, if you drive be sure to buy Mexican insurance before you leave US soil. Not to frighten you, but I've had some really bad & scary experiences in TJ.

As a girl from Chicago, absolutely NOT!
The beach area, from Del Mar to Mission Beach
offers enough of a better world than Lake Michigan.

Tijuana is always a cultural experience. Its a big city, lots of shopping opportunities, women are safe as long as they dress modestly and behave themselves. As safe as San Diego.

I guess one must go to TJ once in their lifetime. Just be very careful. And make sure you have ID to get back in to the US. Lots and lots to see and do in San Diego, however. Be sure to visit the Gaslamp District. Great restaurants, bars and interesting people to watch.
