I keep my cats in, as one is black and there is no telling what someone will do for kicks. I just don't want to take the chance with my animals. They are like part of the family. Even if they are pests - always in my way, always on the wrong side of the door - always meowing..

This is so bad I hate even sharing it... but people have to know the dangers... especially around Halloween...

When I was a kid, my aunt's BEAUTIFUL longhaired siamese kitty was found dead on the morning after Halloween. Someone had shoved a firecracker up her butt. It's horrible the things people will do to animals. :'(

My animals are indoor only, but I urge EVERYONE to keep ALL animals inside on Halloween ... including a few days before and a few days after. It's a time of year when for some reason, it seems society is more accepting of cruel behavior. That said... it can happen ANY time too... which is why my animals are strictly indoor only. Way too many nut jobs in this world.

The cats never go out, but even if they did they'd stay in tonight. The dogs will go out only long enough to do their business, then right back in. I don't take any chances during Halloween or the 4th of July. My section of town can get a little rambunctious.

I have 5 cats, and they are all indoor cats, year round. It's the safest thing for them.

I have 3 dogs and a fenced in yard, but I stand in the yard with this around halloween time, just to be safe.

I don't have any cats, but if I did I would not let them out on Halloween. There are too many crazy people out on any night.

I think it would be VERY wise to watch them at all times while outdoors. Besides it being Halloween, there are so many other dangers, i.e. cars, large dogs, etc.
