Start by making a list of all the positive things about yourself. Are you friendly? Smart? Creative? What are you good at: music, art, math, reading, etc? Don't be bashful--it's not like you're going to hang it from the Empire State Building. Be honest with yourself about your skills and your personality. Then list all the things outside yourself that you have to be thankful for--family? Friends? Pets? Religion? By the time your list is done, you'll realize you've got an awful lot to be confident about.

Start becoming proficient about whatever you are interested in. The more you know, the more you do, the better you become and the self confidence comes from that build up of experience.
