We need to keep with this year's parade theme of Hollywood's Golden Years, while connecting it to our animal shelter. Any ideas for how to decorate?

Title the float "Santa Paws for a Cause". Decorate the float to look similar to the store Santa seen from "Miracle on 34th Street", and find someone to play Santa that looks similar. Have a few "elves" help with a few adoptable/homeless pets on the float to show them off. Put your shelter number some where on the float for people to call for more info. :)

Since the theme is Hollywood, feature famous animals, like Lassie, Francis the talking mule, the dog from the Little Rascal movies. I'm sure you can come up with more. Somewhere on the float have a sign that encourages people to adopt a pet after Christmas. Check out this web site StumpsProm.com. Look for the Night in the spotlight and the Hollywood premier theme kits. These will help for the actual float decorations. I'm sure some talented person could make most of the items for less cost.
