The only gun control I need is a steady hand. If anyone thinks taking away guns from decent citizens will be a crime deterrant they are absolutely retarded. If no one has a gun, the criminals who are going to rob you anyway have little to fear. Break into my house or try and carjack me and they'll be bagging your worthless butt up and there won't be a jury trial. Sorry I got on the soap box but the idea of gun control to me just defies all logic.

Hitler had the first state with gun control and look what happened there; tyranny. He said Germany would be peaceful, but instead the people were helpless against his regime. It happens everywhere.
In the US we have the second amendment protecting our right to bear arms, because when a government fears its people you have liberty. Of course there are also laws concerning guns to insure their proper use and to prevent misuse. That is already gun control.
So when people talk of "gun control," such as some of the people of San Francisco and the United Nations, they are calling for a no tolerance kind of gun control. It is a gun ban. You have genocide everywhere people choose to give up or otherwise lose the power to defend themselves.
The US has freedom of arms and freedom of religion, and that is why in the US you have relative peace compared to the rest of the world. In a lot of the rest of the world, if you think differently or are different, you get killed. Perhaps you can then "rest in peace."

This is a very interesting in Question! In Australia we have extremely tight gun control.
You need a very valid reason to own a gun & self protection is not a reason here for being allowed to own one.
It works well for Australians :-) and yes, we still do have shootings but they are few and far between and reported on the nightly news.

against. many people use guns for the wrong reasons. young people use them to kill because of their school rage.
when everyone has guns, it is a war, it is not safe. some people may be afraid to stand up for themselves when they need to, because someone has a gun and will shoot them if they disagree or hate them for their opinion.
