Does it serve a purpose? and who should be the one to decide such a change?

Orthodox people, have nothing to do but to change names. They dont contribute anything towards the country but will stick to their ideas and will take great pride. Now we call Bombay "Mumbai" Calcutta "Chennai". In additon it sounds nothing but outfashioned, and nothing else. This change is just out of hatred and nothing else. Another example would be Gujrati people pronouncing Ahmedabad as "Amdabad". So much for the success, of nation as long as we have orthodox, illeterate savages ruling over the intellectuals

BENGALOORU is de real name of our city n its origin is from de name - BENDAKAALOORU, meanin, de city of cooked grains.
It surely serves purpose, by bringin back de real name of our city, it shows de world about de greatness of de kannada people for buildin such a magnificant city.
The IT companies are not responsible to decide this at all,,,,,,,,

The original name of the city was bengaluru and since the british ruled us they changed the name for mere convinience for them. Changing back to the original name bengaluru must be welcomed. shanging the name boosts our coonfidence and this also helps us in showing our hatred towards the british

opportunist politicians who dont have work
doing this,there are so many other issues
to be resolved at the earliest,
changing name creates confusion,
