You have to wear your hair in pigtails or pigtail braids with ribbons. Your friends hair I would say needs to be slicked out (greased) or if you can pull it off dread it.

I would do the pigtails or a braid or french braid. As for your friend, leave it down or tie it in a loose pony tail and either dye it black or get that spray in stuff.

For you, I'd vote for the pigtails, definitely. For your friend, I would say straight is good, maybe combed a bit forward so it falls over her eyes a lot.
