Any Smashing Pumpkins fans out there? At first Corgan's voice kind of annoyed me but after a while I got used to it and realised how brilliant it was. I have the album Rotten Apples (Best of I think, my favourite song is "Bullet with Butterfuly Wings) ) and I was wondering where I should go next. Any suggestions?

Try their first album "Gish".

I personally think it's the best one.
My favorite Smashing Pumpkins songs are "Siva" and "Bury Me" from the album mentioned above.

SIAMESE DREAM is a really great album to start with - MELLON COLLIE AND THE INFINITE SADNESS tends to run a little long, but it does contain a lot of really excellent songs (including "Bullet . . .) - GISH is for true hardcore fans only - PISCES ISCARIOT contains some interesting stuff, but also some stuff that was left off of other albums for good reason - ADORE and MACHINA: THE MACHINES OF GOD are very different from the other albums, and may or may not appeal - one track that you should not miss is "Drown", which only appears on the soundtrack for the movie "Singles".

I adore the Smashing Pumpkins..... been in love with their music since the early 90's.

Their album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness is, for me, their best ...... it's a true classic and is one of those albums that you can hear again and again and all songs are good.... it has 28 songs, in 2 CDs.

Definitely a classic to enjoy forever...... I hope you'll enjoy it!

Take care! YT

want to know where to go next? i suggest you buy their albums in chronological order, just to get a feel of what they sound like "then and now" in a sense. but, if you want to check one of their greatest albums, it would be "Siamese Dream". this album doesn't have "Bullet with Butterlfy Wings" (unless your looking for that double album, it's called "Mellon Collie and the Infinate Sadness") although Siamese Dreams is a great albumfrom beggining to end, and has a lot of other classic tracks which i'm sure are on rotten apples. excellent album.

I really love "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" - it's an amazing, magical album...one CD is heavy, dark (night) and the other airy, light (day)..(it's a double disc CD) just amazing stuff. It's my favorite, by far.

Their debut album 'Gish' is my favourite. Here's the video for the song rhinoceros from the album - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmN2XoFLLgw
If you like that you'll like the rest of the album too.

Siamese Dream was without a doubt their best work. After that, besides a single here and there, it was all down hill.
