Seriousy if you are looking for a psychologist then you need to be really careful. There are a lot of frauds out there who can do more harm than good. Firstly go to bps.org.uk and look for the link marked directory of chartered psychologists. Just fill in the information on that form and it will find you a list of approved psychologists in the manchester area. If they are not on this list, DO NOT TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGE POLE!!!!!!!!!

The people on that list work really hard to be eligable to be listed and have to stick to high standards and ethical rules laid out by the British Psychological Society. Not an easy feat i can assure you. You also have a safety net of having someone to report them to if they are unprofessional in any manner. If they are not on this list, they can pretty much do whatever they like.

Final piece of advice, therapy doesn't come cheap, you would be looking at paying around 150 pound mimimum for one session which would last around 50 minutes. I don't think any psychologist would recommend less than 6 sessions to help you out.

Hope this was helpful, good luck with the problem, if i can help any further contact me.
