YES! They significantly decrease the effectiveness. You'll need to use an alternate BC for about a week after you've stopped taking your antibiotic. When in doubt, you can always ask the pharmacist as well and they'll provide you with specifics.

Yes, they do interfere with it. A friend in college had an unwanted pregnancy because her Dr never told her it was a possibility. My pharmacist also warned me about Diflucan (oral medicine for yeast infections). I'm not sure what antibiotics can cause problems, but a pharmacist should be able to tell you.

I know of 3 people who got pregnant by taking antibiotics.... So the answer is YES
